At the Power Gas Forum, Meliza Asimakopoulou, Energy Regulatory & CCUS Affairs Director at HERACLES Group, a member of Holcim, joined the panel “CCS technologies and the decarbonization of Greek industry,” highlighting the key role of CCS in enabling industrial transformation.
She emphasized that Greece’s regulatory framework - particularly for CO₂ storage - is in some aspects ahead of the European average, creating the conditions needed to unlock CCUS investments.

Building on this momentum, HERACLES Group, is leading the way with OLYMPUS CCS, its flagship carbon capture project - positioning Greece at the forefront of large-scale CCS deployment and setting the pace for industrial decarbonization in the region.
